A Day In The Life- Appendix

I was wrong! My day didn't end with laundry or cooking. I got a phone call from my father, who invited me to come and eat cheese fondue - he was just coming back from a hike on a swiss mountain, 4000 meter or 13123.32 foot high, with two of my brothers. So I went home, ate lots of fluid cheese and looked at pictures of the day they'd had - try to think of the bluest the sky can be, and the whitest the mountains, add some sweat, homemade sandwiches and cool mammut outdoor wear, and there you go!

Every word of this is true!

For dessert we had some Ben and Jerry's, which is all the rage here now, so no, we're not lost in our little swiss ways. Don't you worry!

  1. How nice! Where did they go?

You seem to have a very busy life these days...

  2. They wanted to do the Weissmies, but ended up on the Allalinhorn because of too much snow! Can you believe it? I guess you don't even understand the notion of "cold weather" anymore!
    Busy, yes! You?

  3. I heard it had snowed down to 1300 metres... hard to believe for me. It's still around 35° here.

... or rather, 4200 feet and temperatures in the nineties. Now that summer is over, the campus is busy with students. Sometimes it feels like an american college movie: fraternities (Alpha Chi Epsilon) hiring students and girls walking around dresses as cheerleaders (infinitesimally short skirts). Also, football season has started (a very strange game if you ask me).

  4. wow, really? must be quite a sight... The Paraglider and I saw Roadtrip a few weeks ago, stupidest (college) movie on earth, but most enjoyable with a big margarita pitcher - maybe a good tip for you!
Say hello to Tiffany, Beverley and Crystal!
